Norma was born on January 24, 1933, to Lee Mitchell and Edith (Henry) Mitchell-Callahan in Memphis, TX. She graduated from Memphis High School and Business College. On September 11, 1954, she married James Roddy Stargel in Memphis. They moved to Lubbock and Norma worked as an Administrative Assistant for First Federal Savings and Loan followed by Century Savings, Caprock Savings and Loan, and retiring from Stewart Title Company. Norma enjoyed spending time with family and was very active in her grandchildren’s activities from baseball games to dance recitals. Her hobbies included oil painting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roddy; a daughter, Suzy Stargel-Todd; a sister, Jimmie McElreath; and a half-brother, Glen Callahan.
Norma is survived by her son, Mitch Stargel and wife, Teal of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Reid Stargel of Lubbock, Emily Todd, and Shane Todd of Lamesa; a son-in-law, Bud Todd and wife Kathleen of Lamesa; a brother, Billy Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews
