Norma Lee Kucauskas, our precious “Moe,” entered eternal paradise on Friday, March 31, 2017. She was born theonly child of James and Sudie Hamilton in Waco, Texas, and was raised alongside her adopted brother, Walter Hamilton. After graduating from Waco High School and attending Baylor University, she relocated to Bakersfield, California, where she married Joseph Kucauskas. They were blessed with two children, Kenneth and Sandra.Norma was an outgoing, talkative people-person, and she used her gift in the communications field, working as a Supervisor forPacific Telephone & Telegraph in Bakersfield. After her family returned to Texas, she worked for the federal government as a Communications Specialist Supervisor until her retirement. She then remained active with volunteer work, caring forher grandchildren, and enjoying lunches and outings with friends. Norma especially loved the holidays, which brought family and friends together and left us with many treasured memories.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and grandson, Kyle Kucauskas.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Koetting and husband, Dean, her grandchildren, Lauren Koetting andMichael Koetting, and her special daughter-in-law, Vicki Averitte and husband, Clint. She also had a special place in her heart for Dean’s sister, Debbie Denton, who assisted her for several years during health issues.
Our dear Moe was a devout, faith-filled lady, kind and gracious to everyone she met. Her family was alwaysforemost in her heart and mind, and even as she departed from us, she reminded us: “Enjoy life, take care of each other, and I love you.”
