On April 6, 1937, Norma Jean Daniel “Honey” was born to Tom Graves and Vona May Carruth in Lubbock, Texas. She married Gary Daniel on April 8, 1955.
Honey was born in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Lubbock High School. She married in 1955 and had three children. She was the front-end manager at Albertsons, where she worked for 25 years. After retiring, she enjoyed substitute teaching for the Lubbock schools. Honey spent the last twenty years of her life doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She focused all of her energy on making sure those she loved the most were well taken care of each and every day. Honey enjoyed reading and watching black and white movies. Honey’s favorite drink was Coca-Cola and she loved going to get donuts in the morning. She loved sun tanning, collecting purses and wallets, and never went a minute without her lipstick.
Survivors include her children, Linda Swann and husband Gary Swann, Gary Daniel, Jr. and wife Kim Daniel, Kelly Andrews, and husband Johnny Andrews. Grandchildren, Shana Hamilton and husband Scott Hamilton, Summer Nichols and husband Gabriel Anguiano, Jett Andrews and wife Pam Andrews, Gary Daniel III and wife Melinda Daniel, Tyler Daniel, Jordan Andrews, and wife Leigh’Ann Andrews, Ashley Pitts and husband Chris Pitts. Great-grandchildren, Kelly Hamilton, Peyton Daniel, Cooper Hamilton, Ashton Hamilton, Abby Hamilton, Mattison Andrews, Easton Andrews, Ellie Nichols, Emma Pitts. Nieces, Kimi Sturgess and Tracey Curtis. Cousins, Judy Greenwood, Jason Kearney, Brae Raliegh, Sarazann Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother Vona May Carruth, step-dad Dave Carruth, and father Tom Graves, brother Mardis (Toots) Graves, Husband Gary Daniel Sr.
