It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nick G. Lopez, who left this world on June 25, 2025. Born on November 26,1939 in Edinburg, Texas, to Juan and Ercelia Lopez. Nick lived a remarkable life filled with laughter, resilience, and deep love for his family.
Known for his humor, sharp wit, and generous heart, Nick touched the lives of many. He had a lifelong passion for trucking and proudly owned and operated his own company for many years, later passing on his knowledge, dedication and passion to his sons.
Nick is survived by his loving wife, Evila Lopez; daughter Lisa Morales (Ben); sons David Lopez (Eva) and Chris Lopez; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brother-in-law Richard Garcia (Judy), sister in laws, Dora Garcia; Hilda Garcia and Rachel Lopez and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Ercelia Lopez; his brothers Manuel, Richard and twin brother Jose Lopez; his sisters Eugenia Arrizola; Oralia Garza; Lupe Blanco; Carmen Sosa; his grandson Joseph Morales; his sister-in-law Viola Mojica; and his brother in laws Johnny and Eddie Garcia.
Nick was a man of great integrity, strength, and compassion. He was deeply devoted to his family, always placing their needs before his own. He loved cooking, working in his yard, and spending time with his beloved companion and friend, Charlie. His raw humor, loyalty, and love will be remembered always.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and selfless care will forever remain in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on July 18, 2025 at River of Life Church 401 S1st St Lamesa, TX with a meal and fellowship immediately following afterward at St. Margaret Mary Parish Hall 908 S2nd St, Lamesa, Tx. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Nick’s honor to the American Stroke Association.
