Nancy Kay Yeargain was born June 16, 1937, to Max and Virginia Huggins Presnell in Enid, OK. Her family moved to Pampa Texas so her father could work at the Army Air base. Nancy was a drum majorette in the Harvester Marching band and graduated in 1955. She married George “GW” Yeargain on 2/2/1956 at First Christian Church in Pampa Texas and together they moved to Lubbock. Nancy was an active member at Lubbock View Christian Church, and many other clubs and groups, including her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi and paint club. She loved to paint and often won first place and Best in Show at the county fair for her paintings. She was a beloved grandmother and aunt. Nancy was a surrogate mother and grandmother to many exchange students and their families from around the world, helping to make Lubbock a welcoming place for all.
Nancy is survived by children, Bryan Yeargain of Lubbock, Steve and Jennifer Yeargain of Mayhill, NM; grandchildren, Kelsy Yeargain of New Orleans and Josie Yeargain of Port Aransas. She is preceded in death by husband, GW Yeargain; parents, Max, and Virginia Presnell; brother, Jon Presnell.
