The family of Michael A Martinez is gathering to recite the Holy Rosary at 5:00 PM, Monday, May 13th, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers followed by services and memorial honoring his life of 73 years at 6:00pm, followed by visitation. He died on Sunday, May 5th, 2024.

Mike was born on January 2nd, 1951, to Alex and Mary Rose Martinez in Friona, TX. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas, in 1969 and went on to proudly serve in the Armed Forces from 1970-1972.  He worked at Reese Air Force Base until closure and retired from the United States postal service. Michael Martinez and Rosita Magana were married in Lubbock, Texas in 2019.  His favorite things to do included spending time with his dogs, reading the news paper, listening to all types of music and watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Mike also enjoyed traveling to Ruidoso and Las Vegas and spending time with his wife Rosita.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rosita Magana; sister, Carmen King; four nephews, several cousins and many other beloved family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Mary Rose Martinez.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests trees be planted in Mike’s honor. They also request donations be made to The Haven Animal Care Center Donate (paypal.com).

I remember my cousin Mike because we had to literally look up to him! Every time I would take my mother to an appointment in Lubbock, she would ask me to take her to see her nephew, Mike. We would have good visits and conversations. But the last several times we'd stop by, we didn't get to see him, but we left notes on his door with our phone numbers to call us, but we didn't hear back from him. Momma really did miss those visits. Rest in Peace cousin🙏❤️You will be missed, but never forgotten. Love you bunches 😚❤️
