Michael Lee Perry was born on April 27, 1945, in Paris, Texas, to Maurine and Owen Perry, Mike lived a life filled with hard work, humor, and a love for the simple things.
Mike was a career furniture salesman who had a gift for connecting with people. He was a man who worked with his hands. He loved crafting walking sticks, tending to his tomato plants, and making and refurbishing fishing lures. He loved fishing and hunting, spending time outdoors, cooking a big breakfast for the family, and immersing himself in books—especially those about cowboy history. And no matter where he was, he always had a story to tell. He had a way of connecting with those around him, always ready with a quick wit and a memorable one-liner that left everyone laughing. More than anything, he loved being “Pops” to his five grandchildren. He looked forward to working with them in the garden, watching them swing in the backyard, laughing alongside them, and playing games around the table. His legacy of love for his family, warmth, and humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Jacquetta Perry; his children, Robin Perry Acker (Thomas) and Zane Perry (Erica); and his five grandchildren, Presley, Perry Grace, Evie, Finlay, and Walker. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Jane Carr of Arlington and Kathy Pridmore of Amarillo.
At 79, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 29, 2025.
