Michael Lacy 41, of Lubbock, TX, went home to God Sunday, August 20, 2017, after a short and hard battle to a rare disease. He was born February 23, 1976, to David and Linda Johnson.
Michael begin “his” life journey with his true love, Tanya Lacy, on June 13, 1996. He was a fan of sports but a true fan to his four sons. His happiness was with his wife and standing on the sidelines cheering for his children in any sport or activity in which they participated. Michael was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and any other title he acquired. Michael had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He had no friends because everyone became family to him. His strength and determination were centered on his wife and children. He led his children by example and instilled in them a “we never quit” mentality. Faith, family, and friendships were everything to him. He was “Superman” to many. Michael may be gone from earth but will never be forgotten.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents. His legacy will continue to be honored and cherished by his wife, Tanya Lacy; and his four sons, Jaylon, Jordan, Jarron, and Jyson. Left to cherish his memories are his two strong-willed brothers, Dedrick and Breven Johnson; loving in-laws, Roger, Gayla, Jonathan Grant; sweet nephew and nieces, Aaron, Avery and Ambry; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, amazing friends and precious children of God.

Michael was/is probably the nearest person my husband and I have ever know. He was always full of smiles and jokes. Enormous heart of gold and will truly be missed.

  8. My sincere condolences to Mrs. Lacy and her family, and I hope that these promises from the Bible will give them solace as they endure this time of sorrow. Jehovah God is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. And he will wipe away the tears from all faces. Psalms 34:18; Isaiah 25:8 NWT. And in the future, people all over the earth (Psalms 37:11, 29) will not suffer illness ever again. No resident will say: ” I am sick.” Isaiah 33:24; Matthew 5:5 NWT. Peace, and may happy memories of Mr. Lacy continue with you.

Tom and I really didn’t get to know Michael as well asweeould have liked, but from the first time we met, we both knew he was a really good person. His smile was beautiful and you could tell he had a beautiful soul. My heart is breaking for Tanya as her love for him was so real and it’s going to be so hard for her without him.
