Michael was born on July 15, 1945 to Robert and Lavera (Amstutz) Ross in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Fenton High School, Bensenville, Ill. On September 24, 1966 he married Janice Hewitt in Bad Axe, Michigan. They moved to Texas and Michael drove a dump truck for Young Brothers in Waco, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the China Spring First Baptist Church where he ran the church sound system. Following his retirement he moved back to Indiana before moving to the warmer climate of Lubbock in 2014. Michael was a member of the Downtown Bible Class. He served as a volunteer fireman in Indiana and Texas and was a member of the Texas and Indiana Patriot Guard Riders. He was an avid HAM radio operator, and for time away he enjoyed riding his Burgman 400 motorcycle across the country.He was preceded in death by parents, his wife, Janice K. Ross, and a daughter, Tonya Pitts.Michael is survived by a daughter, Tia (Lee) Porter of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Staehli Ross, Dane Hernandez, Josh Porter, Jessica (Nick) Hottmann, and Nichole Porter; two great grandsons, Tildon Hottman and Canyon Hottman; and three brothers, Steve (Jean) Ross of Port Charlotte, FL, Mark (Marty) Ross of Springhill, TN, and Ron (Peggy) Ross of Mahomet, IL,.
