Mary Sanders

Mary Sanders passed away on July 24, 2019. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 26, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 71 years at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel. Family and friends are invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy, and view Mary Sanders’s life tribute at www.memorialdesigners.net.Mary was born on July 25, 1947 to Polo and Nora (Villega) Canales in Lubbock, TX. She married the love of her life Micheal Sanders on August 14, 1968 in Lubbock.Our mom was a loving, giving, kind and cheerful wife, mom, grandma, sister, daughter and friend. Once you became a part of her family you never became anything less than family to her. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her loved ones. Whether she was hoeing in the fields at the farm or cleaning a house she worked hard at everything she did. She taught her kids to never give up no matter what. We will miss her greatly, but we rejoice and celebrate today because she received the best birthday present of being in the presence of her Savior, Jesus, and the love of her life, our dad, Mike.Survivors include her children, Mike Acevedo and wife Missy, Gloria Henderson, Kathy Ortiz, and Teddy Acevedo and wife Michelle, grandchildren, Michael Acevedo and wife Heather, Coty Acevedo and wife Dolores, Jeremy Henderson and wife Dashenna, Justin Henderson, Heavenly Henderson, Samantha Valdez, Johnny Hernandez and wife Jessica, Ricky Ortiz and wife Sabrina, Kayla Acevedo, Kinsey Acevedo, great-grandchildren, Star Gamboa, Jeremiah Anthony Hernandez, Gabby Hernandez, Carson Ortiz, Charity Ortiz, Jolynn Hernandez, Zhoi Garcia, Leah Esperanza, and soon to be baby Acevedo, siblings, Irene, Rose, Frank, Mingo, Bessie, Sammy, Raymond, Nora, Polo, Benny, and Mike.She was preceded in death by her husband, Micheal Sanders, her parents, and a son-in-law, Jerry Henderson.
