Mary Louise Hollins went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018, unexpectedly. Friends and family are welcome to gather together to celebrate her wonderful 85 years of life on Saturday at 10am, March 3, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers in Lubbock, Texas.
Mary Louise Hollins was born on August 23, 1932, to parents David and Walcie Hunt. Louise was one of nine siblings.
On Aug. 26, 1948, Louise was united in marriage to John R. Hollins in Lubbock. The couple had one child, Craig Hollins.
Louise was exceptional at business and worked tirelessly as an executive secretary with Read & Company. Later, she and husband, John, became successful business partners in several business ventures such as Kimball Music Center in Lubbock and Hollins House of Music in Amarillo. Their next passion for many years was the grocery store business serving the surrounding community. Upon husband John’s death in Jan 4. 1995, Louise began her employment with Dunlap’s Department Store up until 2007.
Louise, aka “Mama-Lou” by her grandchildren, was an amazing and fun-loving grandma to her three grandchildren – Daylia, Braley, and Emery and to son Craig and daughter-in-law, Amber. She was a constant joy, always full of encouragement, and a loving fixture in their daily lives.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents David and Walcie Hunt, husband John R. Hollins, brothers David aka “Sonny” Hunt, Coolidge Hunt and Johnny Hunt, sister Dixie Mackill. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Craig Hollins and his wife Amber Hollins, grandchildren Daylia, Braley, and Emery Hollins, and brothers Ronald Hunt and wife Patsy, Mike Hunt and wife Debbi, Jim Hunt and wife Patsy, sister Betty Aven, and sister-in-laws Bonnie Hunt and Wana Hunt, brother-in-law Doug Mackill, and so many other amazing family members and friends.
