Dear Satterwhite Family, I was sadden by the news Mary's Graduation to Glory to our Lord and Savior, but my involvement in UIL activities for 20 plus years I recognized her talent, committment and passion for her students whatever she was teaching or coaching, I was priveledged many State Champions from our UIL alignment. She and two others opened my football and basketball eyes and I became a believer in the Fine Arts and and enjoyed many activities during the rest of my journey.she Taught all of us!! You were a Blessing ? Dale Read

Mary Satterwhite probably never knew just how much she changed my life and so many others. That was just the kind of humble, unassuming, person she was. She was always giving without expecting anything in return, except your best, of course. That was her passion...seeing and bringing out your best, challenging you to try and do more than you knew you were capable of, creating something good and then making it extraordinary. She knew everyone had special gifts and she was a master at channeling them and building confidence in others. She made me a lover of words, the arts, literature, theater, and how to master and revere grammar, punctuation, and a robust vocabulary ever more precious in this hashtag world we've evolved into. She was a woman of class, with style all her own down to all the cool, unique jewelry I'll always remember her wearing. I can still hear her perfectly infectious laugh, and it makes me smile even now as my heart aches for all her loved ones near and far. Thank you Mrs. Satterwhite. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for recognizing and fostering my gifts and sharing all of yours with me and so many others.

Dear Fred, Scott, Beth and Robin, you are all very much in my heart. Like so many other former students, I am deeply grateful for Mary’s life! I would not be the teacher I am today without her coaching and pushing me to succeed in speech class. I wanted so much to overcome my fear of speaking before others and she had just the right approach to make it happen. Not a semester has passed that I haven’t said a quiet thanks to your Mom for inspiring me to be the kind of teacher that I am! As I stand before my university students and delight in teaching them the Bible...know that I will give Mary my profound gratitude for a life well lived ! And yes I still see her smiling!!!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Loved and admired Mary. Even though she was my best friend's mom, she was the teacher I always wanted to emulate in my own teaching career. She was the absolute best. I loved her much. With love to Fred, Beth and the "little brothers" ? Her teachings will always be with me.❤

Others have said it well. Mrs. Satterwhite (I cannot call her anything else even now at 46!) was an exceptional teacher. Just last week I was telling someone about my class of 8 and that I got an EXCELLENT education there. She was a huge part of that. Oh the memories in OAP. This morning I went to yoga class right after reading her obituary. The first thing we did were these deep breathing exercises with my hand on my stomach and I had this sudden deja vu--felt just like those intense OAP warmups at contest! I started laughing out loud in class! Thank you Satterwhite family for sharing her with all of us!

Dear the Satterwhite Family,We did not know Mary, but remember you mentioned her on numerous occasion when we met in Mexico. Our thoughts are with you. “Like the year life has it’s seasons; summer green and autumn gold - but where hearts are true and faithful, love abides and grow not old. Time can bring no vain regrets, nor can it take away from me - the golden music of the years; the echoes of sweet memory...”We have made a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. From your friends across the pond,Lyndon & Nicole

What an awesome teacher, mentor, and follower of Christ. She is one of my all time favorite teachers, even when she ran down the list of my brother’s names to eventually get to mine! Her passion for learning and doing all things to the best of your abilities and to glorify God was shared with so many students and undoubtedly has been magnified over the years by those same students. Prayers of comfort that only God can give for all the family.

I was so sad to hear about Mrs. Satterwhite! Oh the memories we all have in the Borland family of Mrs. Satterwhite. From her walking down the hall in her tennis shoes to that wonderful laugh of hers I still remember to this day to the days of getting to follow my cousins to state in the one act play. What beautiful and priceless memories she has given us to cherish all our lives. This world was and always will be a better place by having Mrs. Satterwhite in it. What a blessing she was as a teacher to so many! May you all take comfort in knowing just how special she was to so many! Praying for peace and comfort for each of you!!

Fred and family. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mary. She taught Jack in Spanish and he would always say the same sentence in Spanish to her when he saw her at church. He spoke about what a good time they all had with her and Mrs. Albritton when they were sponsor’s on the senior trip. The two of you have always had a special place in the hearts of the Ropes students. Mary was a example of how to live a Christian life because she didn’t just teach it she lived it. My love and prayers are with you all.
