The family of Marilyn “Nana” Allen will celebrate her life of 61 years at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Her family will have a time of fellowship and remembrance following the service. Marilyn passed from her earthly body on Sunday, September 26, 2021. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, sign her virtual guestbook, and download her memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.  We also ask you to consider viewing her Life Tribute, a video of photographs set to her favorite music.

On September 21, 1960, Marilyn Denise was born to Will and Minnie Allen in Snyder, Texas. Marilyn got to enjoy many phases in her life. She was shy and kept close to her mom and dad who she trusted the most. She kept busy with her 3 brothers and 1 sister while growing up roughhousing, watching football games, and spending the weekends roller skating.

She married young and was blessed with three kids of her own. She had a career in journalism and worked 20 years with Ventura food, but her life was really about her family.

Marilyn was not a fancy woman; she loved the simple things in life. She loved her multiple homes and would choose that over a mansion any day. She loved to decorate her home and yard, she loved to dream. She loved to jump on a motorcycle and GOOO. She had a love for the lake, dolphins, and just sunbathing and laughing with her loved ones.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Brandie (Andrew)Davis, Joshua (Ciera) Lopez, Justin Lopez; grandchildren, Garrett Davis, Tanek Davis, Kai Davis, Jasper Davis, and Teylei Lopez; siblings, Rex (Lisa) Allen, Douglas (Susie) Allen, Kenneth (Betty) Allen, and Gloria (Bryan) Chambers. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Minnie Allen; and nephew Derrick Beatty.
