Maria Garza was born on April 14, 1932 to Seferino and Librada Bernal Garza in Cotulla, TX. On April 11, 1951, Maria married the love of her life, Joaquin Perez in San Antonio, Texas.

Survivors include her children, Diamantina Martinez, Joaquin P. Perez, Jr., Diana Pequeno Rodriguez, Flora Reyes, Doroteo Perez, Maria Juanita Hernandez, Richard Perez, and Molly Melendez; siblings, Ruben Garza, Angelita Carnales, and Anita Melendrez; 30 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seferino and Librada Garza; husband, Joaquin P. Perez; and daughter, Polly Perez.

Ms Maria was a Wonderful Sweet Loving lady to Everyone! She will be missed. I knew her since grade school at Frenship, when her and Mr Perez would come pick up their Children and You sure could Hear her yelling for Diamantina and Joaquin....I know she's with Her Saviour, I was there when she Gave her Life to Christ, along with Mr Joaquin Perez....Loved her so Much! Till we meet again!
