Margaret Faye Mills passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 93 years on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Margaret was born on August 30, 1924, to O. E. and Mary (Martin) Byrd in Searcy, AR. She was raised in Spur and moved to California when she was seventeen. Several years later she married William Mills on June 14, 1946, in Inglewood, CA. Moving to Lubbock in the ‘60’s, Margaret worked for Texas Instruments and retired in 1990. Margaret enjoyed many hobbies including collecting clocks and spoons from different states and countries, making fleece tie blankets and ceramics. Her joy was her grandbabies, whom she loved dearly.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Holmes and husband, Richard of Meadow, TX; son, Bill Mills and wife, Shirley of Denton, TX; four granddaughters; one grandson; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Byrd and wife, Susan of Nocona, TX; Bob Byrd and wife, Shirley of Wichita Falls, TX.; and her eight puppies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William S. Mills; daughter, Mary Williams; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Nolas Byrd, O. E. Byrd, and Charles Byrd.

    Margaret was a strong and loving woman. I admired her sparkling blue eyes. She so enjoyed her family and puppies.. she will be missed.
