Jack and Family. I only got to know Lynn thru the years of her transition to becoming a McClendon. She was a light of enthusiasm, service and hope. She cared and nurtured so many and was always humble in that. I m so sorry for the loss of such a lovely lady.

Our prayers are with you all this day as you gather to celebrate and honor the life of Lynn McClendon who loved you and expressed that love through her words, actions, and prayers. Through human frailty, words may be clumsy and actions are often inadequate to express the depth of love desired to be communicated. As family and friends gather today, may the fullness of Lynn’s love for you be felt and shared as a continuing expression of her love. May Lynn rest in the peace and love of Jesus Christ, Our Savior. Lynn McClendon was a great woman who dedicated her life to her wonderful blended family and to the development of Lubbock as a "kinder" and more loving place. A look at her family and the tremendous success stories of the children show that she was an loving mother who encouraged each child to set large goals for themselves, and each one is very outstanding. Lynn dedicated her life to helping children and families of Lubbock by serving on numerous boards and usually being asked to serve in the tough roles such as treasurer and chair of many diverse groups. Many organizations such as LISD, MHMR, Lubbock State School, Lubbock Children's Shelter, County Appraisal District, Susan Komen Foundation, and many others. During this time, women were not serving in the top roles of such organizations. She gave a large segment of her life to the Salvation Army. If she had been born just a little later, perhaps she could have been a top business executive or mayor! She was loved and admired by many people in all walks of life. Perhaps most important, she was a devoted wife to Jack and helped him in his legal career and business life. Their personalities complimented each other and it was easy to see the love they had for each other. Lynn is one of those individuals you admire and wish you could spend more time with, but life is busy and runs by way too fast. However, I am grateful for the opportunities I had to know Lynn and to work with Jack during his leadership of the Carillon Senior Living Board. Lynn was an inspiring leader and a tremendous influence on many lives!
