Lyn was the first person I met after joining the YMCA. She was so friendly, welcoming and we have been friends ever since. I miss her. She talked fondly about her family often. What a blessing to have her in our lives.

My sincere condolences to Lyn’s family. I was so blessed to have know Lyn these past 2 years at the Bedford Y at Line Dancing and Good Vibes. She was always impeccably dressed and had a fiery sense of humor. On Thursdays I always told her and Peggy — “Don’t let me read about you two in the newspaper!” She was an inspiration to keep me moving. She made an indelible mark in my life. I will miss her. God Bless!

Dear Jane and Family, My condolences to you and your family who loved Lyn so dearly. Lyn was special to many, including me. We will all miss her and her humor and her love. I sent via email to the many friends of Lyn's in Windemere of her passing, and have received messages from several. Love, Polly Below is part of what I wrote in the email. My favorite story about Lyn was when she bought a new car in 2021 or 2022. When I complimented her on her new car her response was, "I don't know why I did it. It's foolish of me at my age to buy a new car that comes with a big car payment." When I dismissed her comment about this, she added. "But really the foolish one is not me, but the car dealer that gave me a five-year loan on it." A few months ago, Lyn, with her adult grand daughter driving Lyn's car, left Windemere and moved to Lubbock to live with her daughter, Jane and family. Lyn loved that her grand kids were regular visitors when she got to Lubbock, and she settled in nicely in her new spot. Lyn lived at 2212 Green Gate for many years. She was one of the four ladies, known as the Pool Supremes, who took care of the Windemere pool for many years. She loved to attend Windemere social events, and was always dressed to the nines in the latest fashion appropriate for whatever the event called for. Many at Windemere will never forget Lyn Beam's humor and kindness.
