Luther was born on March 1, 1955, to Eluterio and Ramona Lara Bosquez in Bryan, Texas. Luther married Isabel Martinez Ramos on July 9, 1993, in Lubbock, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Isabel Bosquez; children, JoAnna Mata and husband, Aaron; Ruben Ramos, and wife April; Luther Bosquez III, and wife Andrea; Cristina Bocanegra, and husband David; Siblings, Christino Bosquez, and wife Diana; Dora Casanova, and husband David; Raymond Bosquez, and wife Delia; David Bosquez, and wife Analisa; Mary Martinez, and husband Joe; Edward Bosquez, Adela Suarez, and husband Mariano; Ann Gutierrez, and husband Charles, Alice Morin, and husband David; 13 grandchildren including three that he raised, Lorenzo Lovato, Johnathon Lovato, Leah Lovato, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eluterio G and Ramona Bosquez; daughter, Michele Ramos, and sister, Linda Cordero.
