It is with heavy broken hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband and daddy Luis Moreno. Born on August 25, 1977, in his proudly state of Durango, Mexico. Luis (Luigi) was a fully dedicated husband and father. He was the rock of our family and will deeply be missed. Luis passed away on November 13, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. Luis was thankful to his father for bringing him to the US when he was at a young age. He was proud to be a US citizen, but never forgotten his born country México. Luis graduated from Monterrey High School in 1995. He was a very dedicated hard-working person that began in the roofing business with his father at the age of 16. In June 2005 he opened his own business Liberty Roofing and was proud to serve the Lubbock community. He was humble and it would cherish his heart every time a customer would complement his work. In 2013, he started as a salesman with Kelly Roofing in Amarillo, TX. He was grateful for the opportunity Sean Kelly gave him, because Luis knew that he was decently providing for his family when work was slow in Lubbock. He enjoyed every laugh at that office and I know he left an empty space in people’s hearts that got to know him. On February 10, 2007, after five long years of dating he married the love of his life Martha. They had three beautiful children, Melannie, Diego and Emylee. He had a special relationship with each of his kids, he knew how to make them smile and enjoy life. He didn’t mind driving to Dallas to watch Melannie swim for only a few seconds, he always stated that it was worth it to him to see her doing something good, his “grandota” as he would call her at times was his pride because he knew the beautiful young lady she was becoming. Diego was Luis’s buddy. They shared the same sense of humor, and he always admired Diego’s knowledge in soccer. Watching Diego play was his proud daddy moment. He always encouraged Diego to be the best, it didn’t matter how tired Luis would get home, he would always have time to practice Diego’s soccer kicks. Emylee was a remembrance of God’s existence in Luis’s life. He never lost his faith when all the circumstances that we went through when she was born. He would say that she was a pure gift that God had given us. “God is good” as he would always proclaim. There was no morning or night that he wouldn’t tell us how much he loved us. He taught us how to love God first over anything else and he wanted to transmit to us that no matter the circumstances “God is in control, and we need to accept his will.” Our hearts are in peace knowing that he was in peace with God. We will honor you every day.
