Lola was born on June 3, 1930, to James and Dixie Paden in Fort Collins, CO. Lola moved to Lubbock in the mid-fifties. She worked as a nurse at Highland Hospital for over 30 years. Following her retirement she spent much of her time with family and friends. She was always there with a helping hand for her grandchildren, who lovingly remember her as “Nana.” Lola always took the time to inspire and thank her friends with hand written notes and cards. She was active with her church group and enjoyed participating in game time. She enjoyed working in her rose garden and playing bingo. She also loved to travel, which she did with her second husband, Kenneth Chernushek, before his death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, James Conner, and Kenneth Chernushek; and three brothers, J.R. Paden, Eugene Paden, and, Harold Paden.

Lola is survived by her three children, Vicky (Vince) Kmet of Hixson, TN, Danny Seay of Phoenix, AZ and, Jamie (Frankie) Martinez of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Adam Youngblood, Dustin (Elmira) Bird, Deanna (Spenser) Slider, Danielle (Tucker) Brown, and Cameron (Kelsi) Martinez, and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Lubbock.
