Lois Shields

The family of Lois Shields will celebrate her life of 80 years at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel. She passed on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Seating is limited to 65 seats, face coverings are mandatory, and the staff will enforce social distancing in compliance with state regulations. These precautions are to ensure that the family and our community are safe. The service will be live-streamed on this page, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.On July 1, 1940, Lois was born to Walter, Sr. and Cora Shuman near Tulia, Texas. Lois attended Elk City High School in Elk City, Oklahoma, and then graduated from Abilene Christian University in Texas. Lois worked as a financial advisor at American State Bank, then Wellington State Bank until retiring in 2017. Lois also served on the Board of Trustees for Lubbock Regional MHMR/StarCare for over 20 years. She attended church at Bacon Heights Baptist Church. Lois’s passions included spending time with her sons and granddaughter, hosting family gatherings, cooking, traveling, painting, and photography. Lois devoted her life to loving and serving others.Survivors include a granddaughter, Raven Stapleton; a brother, Louis Shuman; step-children, Monte Lyons and Kelli Lyons Reddy; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and other beloved family members.She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her sons, Breck and Kyle Stapleton; and brothers, Walt Shuman, Jr. and Richard Karl Shuman.
