Loes was born on June 22, 1937, to T.S. and Sudie Mae Luttrell in Slaton, TX. She married the love of her life Jerry Nesmith on April 15, 1960 in Lubbock, TX.
A faithful servant of the Lord, she lived her life in His light, sharing His love through every act of kindness and every prayer she uttered. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy in attending church, teaching others about Jesus and living a life of service.
But it was in her kitchen where her love truly shone. Whether making the family’s favorite meals or her famous red velvet cake, her cooking was a reflection of the love she had for her family and community. Every dish she prepared was infused with love, and no one ever left her table hungry.
Her greatest joy was in fellowship—gathering loved ones together, sharing meals, laughter and stories. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel like family, and her home was always open to those in need of a listening ear or a warm hug. Through her, we learned the true meaning of grace, hospitality and unconditional love.
