Obituary

The family of Liz Saldaña will celebrate her life of 65 years at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 12, 2021, at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance at 7:00 pm, Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed on Sunday, July 4, 2021. On August 26, 1955, Liz was born to Simon and Juanita Saldaña in Harlingen, Texas. She moved to Lubbock in 1959 and graduated from Estacado High School in 1973. She worked for Lubbock Independent School District for 30 years. She loved the Lord (Jehovah) and had a strong faith. She enjoyed gardening, watching romantic movies, and loved the beach. Her family was her true joy, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and spoiling them any chance she would get. She will be remembered as a strong woman, a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and an unforgettable person. She will be deeply missed, and we will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Survivors include her children, Felipe (Sarah) Ramirez, and John Ramirez; grandchildren, Makayla Ramirez, Mariyah Ramirez, Madisyn Ramirez, John Ramirez, Ryan Ramirez, Matthew Ramirez, and Olivia Ramirez; siblings, Simon (Mary Lou) Saldaña; Diana Martinez, and Rebecca (Jimmy) Picon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Juanita Saldaña, sons, Jeremiah, and Jacob Ramirez.
