On the morning of February 15, 2025, Linda received her promotion to heaven after a long-fought battle with cancer. Now she is freed from pain and completely healed in the presence of her Lord.
Linda was an incredible person: a dedicated daughter, a devoted wife, a caring mom, a hilarious aunt, a faithful sister, and a loyal friend. Time spent with her always promised loads of laughter, encouraging smiles, great food and conversation. She was welcoming, kind, entertaining and skillful in the art of listening.
Linda was born on February 24,1949 in Hamlin, Texas to her parents, Louie and Jackie Barton Jones. The family moved to Slaton, Texas in 1952, then eventually moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1956, where she lived the remainder of her years. She graduated from Coronado High School in 1967.
On August 9,1966, Linda married the love of her life, Ralph Beadle. Together they raised two children, Christi and Brandon. She spent most of her adult life taking care of her children, husband, and home. She was an excellent cook with a special affinity for baked goods. Her desserts were always a huge hit! Linda was an impeccable housekeeper as well; her lovely home reflected her keen eye for beauty, balance, and design. It was a place where all who entered were welcomed and made to feel important—that was her specialty. Hospitality was her gift; her humor and gregarious personality made her a natural born entertainer. Like his mother and grandfather, Brandon inherited the funny bone. He loved to joke and tease her; making her smile was a joy to him.
In addition to her immediate family, Linda willingly made herself available to her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. Among them, as well as her children and grandchildren, she became a cheerleader, event-organizer, personal shopper, home decorator, babysitter and caretaker. She cheered her children on through years of go-cart racing, soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball.
Traveling the country with Christi’s softball teams, Lampe Green among others, Linda became a second mom to many of Christi’s friends and teammates. She had many other children, other than her own, whom she embraced with love, support, and guidance. In addition, she supported her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren while watching them cheer, sing and dance, play volleyball, baseball, football and run track. She and Ralph were always willing to support their teams and organizations by buying from or donating to their fundraisers. Linda was an avid Red Raider fan as well, especially Texas Tech Men’s and Women’s basketball and Texas Tech football.
Linda was the strong support, the safety-net, the essential glue that held her family together. Her home was the place to be for holidays and celebrations, graduations, showers, and weddings. The door to her home and heart was always open.
After raising her family, Linda was employed at Lena Stephens for a short while where she assisted her mother-inlaw, Linda Beadle Liner. Motivated by a sincere desire to help others and a knack for conversation, her customer service skills were excellent. She also loved designing displays and arranging merchandise.
Linda’s strong faith, courage, perseverance, and resilience throughout her battle with cancer shine as an example of positive, Christian character. She was never a complainer nor did she become mired in self-pity. Even during her most difficult days, she remained strong. She held on to her smile and sense of humor. She is dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ralph Beadle; children, Christi Beadle, Brandon (Terri) Beadle; grandchildren, Justin Vigil, Jared Vigil; siblings, Carlton (Joni) Jones, Darlene Tate, and Denise (Joe) Morris. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Jackie Jones and her daughter-in-law, Heather Beadle.
The family of Linda Beadle will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 75 years is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
