Coach Lester Ramsey was one of the most influential teachers and men I have known. When I think about the many reasons I became an educator, he tops the list! We have lost a great mentor, but I know Our Lord in heaven is hoping Coach will give him one of his beautiful chalk talks! Prayers to the family! What a great group of people! I know Coach is proud of that legacy the most!

Lester was a kind soul and we will miss him. As neighbors of the Ramseys, it is comforting to know that Lester is at peace and free from pain. Martha has taken such wonderful care of him. You are in our thoughts and prayers.Keith and Heidi

I always admired Coach Ramsey, so much that the year I was editor of the Shamrock High School yearbook(that year named Stream of Faith), we dedicated the yearbook to him as an example of faith. He was a joy filled follower of Jesus, was loads of fun. He was my P E teacher ( for all of us unathletic ones) and my art teacher. I loved seeing his chalk talks. His life exuded encouragement. My heartfelt condolences to the family. I know you will miss him terribly.

I am blessed to have been his neighbor. Students, track team members, friend of his family, church choir partner, art student, and grateful recipient of his love for me and my wife and children. I will not forget running football plays against the first team varsity goal line defense. We would huddle up and he would hold up a page of a play the opposing team would run against us. For about three straight plays our tailback Steve Copeland had run the ball and been pounded by the defense. If we scored the defense had to run extra after practice. Coach Ramsey picked a play that called for Steve to run the ball again and grinning from ear to ear said...” This is the played that killed Cock Robin!!!” Steve muttered under his breath “Yeah! And I’m Cock Robin!!!” Coach grinned that big grin and told us to “Go get em!” Steve got smashed again and slowly trudged back to the huddle and Coach said “We won’t run that one again!!! Let’s try another one!” He was an excellent art teacher, great hunting buddy, father, consistent Christian example and encourager!” Candy and I are grateful to have called him teacher and friend! He will be missed!!! Heaven has gained another blessing and angel.

I am another who was greatly impacted by Coach Ramsey. He was a great encourager and I benefited from that. I have also been in trouble with him... but that was always David’s fault!!! I remember David and I eating “poison” berries and Coach jumped in the pickup to rush us to the hospital. Then he got out to close the gate and laughed all the way back! I’m sorry for your loss but I am thrilled that he is finally home! I look forward to laughing again with him. Scott Wells
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

.Coach was a good man and coach. He was my kicking coach and kicking buddy in 1956. He had a different way of kicking a football. He kicked straight on with his toes turned up. We had some good contest and good times. He was a very nice man and a good coach. Rest in peace Coach.

Coach Ramsey was one of a kind, for sure. His happiness made others happy. His positive attitude and kind words made every better. I haven't seen him in years, but I will never forget him. Prayers for the loss the family will experience, but praising God for his spiritual journey on earth.

Coach Ramsey was a shining example to anyone he was ever around. He was a skilled encourger and cheerleader for all. He pulled things out that we didn't know we had in us . He was always teaching always leading. His chalk talks were the Best! Any student that ever had him respected and looked up to him. He lived out his passion. Pretty sure he's already leading the heavenly track team.

Coach Ramsey was always encouraging and was like my family away from family. He was one of the most joy filled men we knew. His laugh was infectious. He saw an adventure in every thing he did and made you feel like you were a part of it. Watching a Cowboys game with him made the game more special. I remember being in traffic in a car with him in Dallas. It was red and white lights for miles. His comment , “Oh look at that- it looks like a candy cane!” Our hearts and prayer go out to all the Ramsey Family. His legacy lives on in you. Blessings, Stan & Kris Barefoot

Lester was dear friend to our Barefoot Family. He loved the Lord and had a servant heart. He loved coaching young people and did his utmost to lead them in the right direction. He and Martha were wonderful traveling companions always seeing things through artists eyes opening up new visions along the way. He will be missed by so many.
