We gather to celebrate the life of Leslie Ann Escamilla, a cherished daughter, loving mother, beloved fiancée, sister and family member who passed away on December 24, 2023, at her residence in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 41.
Born on February 23, 1982, Leslie’s contagious spirit and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She graduated from Frenship High School where she was twirler, member of the debate team, the National Honor Society, and the Hispanic National Honor Institute. Following graduation, Leslie was the feature twirler for UTEP for two years and finished her education at South Plains College. Leslie’s journey was one filled with strength and resilience, as she navigated life’s hurdles with grace. Despite the challenges life presented, Leslie found strength in her pursuits, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and an unwavering spirit.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Maddox Dugan; mother, Martha Escamilla; brother, Angel Escamilla; fiancée, Xavier Aquino; and grandmother, Oltia Cardona, along with extended family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded by her father, Jose Antonio Escamilla; paternal grandparents, Marcial and Margarita Ruiz; maternal grandfather, Gilbert Cardona; uncle, Homer Escamilla; and cousin, James Cardona.
