Leigh Ann Allen was born on November 16th, 1980 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. She peacefully met Jesus from the same place on May 13, 2023. The time between was a testament to the gracious love and salvation of our Heavenly Father.
Just like her parents and siblings, Leigh Ann was a Lubbock girl and a Red Raider. She attended Waters Elementary, Evans Junior High, Monterey High School (Class of ‘99) and Texas Tech University. Leigh Ann and her family were members of Calvary Baptist Church and Southcrest Baptist Church where she was active in both youth groups and played the piano for Sunday evening services when she was a teenager. Leigh Ann was known as a social butterfly, the heartbeat of the group, and a compassionate friend to all.
At Texas Tech, Leigh Ann was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and was a proud Red Raider. Her passion for animals was evident by the number of pets and strays that found their way to her home. Leigh Ann loved big.
Leigh Ann was preceded in death by her precious mom, Velvon Allen, and her grandparents, Roy and Maude Stanley and Coy and Irene Allen.
Her testimony will continue to be shared by her parents, Duane and Sherry Allen, siblings Joshua Allen, Daniel Allen, and Laura Hale-Fuqua, and siblings-in-law, Chanda Allen and Sean Fuqua. Aunt Leigh Ann’s story will also live on through her niece and nephew, Landry and Zachary Allen.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 18th at 2:00pm at Southcrest Baptist Church. Please visit www.memorialdesigners.net for a service broadcasting schedule and an area to share stories of Leigh Ann with her family.
