You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories of Larry on this page.On May 2, 1951, Larry was born to Charles Kenneth Watkins and Betty Irene Storm in Lexington, KY. Raised in Lexington, he graduated from Lafayette High School in 1970. After graduation, he attended Eastern Kentucky University. In 1970, Larry married Liana D. Payne. They were married for 5 years. Larry decided to put his education on hold and enlist in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the USAF for 4 years. He moved back to Lexington, KY in 1975 to be closer to his family. In 1976, he started dating Sharon K. Thompson. Larry and Sharon married in February 1977, in Lexington and were together for 40 years until her death.Larry worked full-time during the day and attended the University of Kentucky at night, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984. He worked as a mechanical engineer for a number of years. In 1993, he and Sharon moved to Charleston, SC to start his own business, Thermal Air Balance, where he performed airflow testing, adjusting and balancing of hospitals, schools, and other buildings and facilities. Larry attended the Cathedral of Praise in Charleston, SC for many years. In 2019, he moved to Lubbock, TX to be closer to family and he attended Trinity Church. Larry’s favorite things were worshipping and praising Jesus; visiting his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; working with wood in his woodshop; fishing on a river or lake; bird watching; and rooting for the Kentucky Wildcats college basketball team.On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, Larry Wayne Storm departed his life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Larry is survived by his sons Clifford (Janet) Storm of Lubbock, TX and Robert (Coralie) Storm of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren Brittany (Joseph) Swindon of Ridgecrest, CA and Brandon Storm of Lubbock, TX; great-grandchildren Mackenzie Swindon and Colton Swindon; siblings Rebecca Manies of Lexington, KY, Cheryl (Ed) Jenkins of Cave City, KY, and Bradley Hill of Lexington, KY.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Storm; and half-brother, Charles (Lynda) Hill, Jr.
