LCDR Larry Donald “Don” Bartlett, USN, Retired, passed away on July 10, 2020. The family will celebrate his life of 84 years at 2:00 p.m. on August 6, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers in Lubbock, Texas. J.” Bartlett and Rosalie Bragg Bartlett in Olton, Texas. He completed the NROTC program and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1957. He then accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Navy and retired in 1977 in Charleston, South Carolina. Here he began a second career as an Economics professor at Trident Technical College where he taught for twenty years. In 2000, he returned to Texas where he resided until his death. Don married his childhood sweetheart, Nancy LeMay Bartlett, on March 29, 2014, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Independence, Missouri. His love for God, his children, grandchildren, wife, and his country was apparent.Survivors include his wife, Nancy LeMay Bartlett; four daughters, Tracy Bartlett Churdar and husband, Douglas Alan Churdar; Paige Ellen Bartlett; Jamie Leigh Boney and husband James Lee Boney III; Jennifer Fleming Garcia and husband Jose Garcia; two sons, James Daniel Fleming; William Paul Fleming and domestic partner, Sherry Blum; and four grandchildren, Vincent James King and wife, Carolyn Merkel King; Michael Wade King, Spencer Rain Boney, and Ryan Iley Boney.He was preceded in death by his parents B. J. & Rosalie Bartlett; siblings, James “Jim” Douglas Bartlett and Berna J. Rogers.
