L. C. “Train” Childers, 93, of Wolfforth had a change of address on Sunday, July 28, 2024. L.C. was born on March 20, 1931, in Southland, Texas to Clint and Willie (Tucker) Childers. L.C. graduated from Frenship High School in 1949. In 1951 he joined the Air Force. L.C. married Doris McBee on September 9, 1967. He was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1996. He served on Area and Regional Co-op boards, the Lubbock MPO committee, Texas Municipal League, South Plains Association of Governments, Wolfforth City Council, and the Mayor of Wolfforth for ten years.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; along with many nieces and nephews.
L.C. is preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Willie Childers; sisters, Wilda Snider and Dottie Townsend; and his sweet dog, Molly.
