“A lifelong resident of Lubbock, Kittie Pearl was born on May 2, 1927, to Mackey and Norma (Eubanks) McLarty and was a proud graduate of Lubbock High School. She has left a legacy at LHS as most of her grandchildren have graduated from there, and one is a teacher there today. Kittie Pearl married the love of her life, Samuel Brown, on April 2, 1947. She assisted her husband in his business as his legal secretary. Kittie Pearl attended Texas Tech until the announcement of her third child. She was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, working word puzzles, and miniature dollhouse collecting. Kittie Pearl was an avid shopper and was well traveled. She felt blessed to have experienced so much in her life. Kittie Pearl was the matriarch of her family and there was nothing more important to her. She garnered respect not only from her family but all those who knew and loved her, and she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cozette Laun and Eloise Lokey; and her beloved husband, Sam on April 15, 1997.
Those left to cherish her memories are her three children, Phillip Samuel Brown and wife Cristi, of Arlington; Cynthia Anne Brown of Lubbock and Paul Franklin Brown and wife, Sharon, of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Stephen Ashley Brown and wife, Julia, of Ft. Worth; Chase Andrew Brown of Grapevine, Mackenzie Lee Brown of Lubbock, Phillip Stephen Rudy and wife, Nicole, of Lubbock, Rebecca Kathleen Brown of Arlington and Wade Hunter Brown and wife, Amber, of Lubbock; a great-grandson, Holden Eileen Timshel Rudy of Lubbock and two great-granddaughters on their way, Emmy Pearl Brown and Grey Rudy.
In memory of Kittie Pearl, memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice.”
