Kelcy Lynae Tekell was born on December 9, 1989, to Cary and Nancy Tekell in Lubbock, Texas. Those who knew Kelcy know that she was the most dedicated, selfless, God-pleasing servant to everyone in her life. Kelcy became a Christian at a very young age and was a force for God from that day on. She was a witness to everyone through her walk, her actions, and her unique personality.
Kelcy graduated from Meadow High School in 2008. She proceeded to attend South Plains College. While there, she was on the Leadership Team for the Baptist Student Ministry. Kelcy worked for an after-school tutoring program for elementary and junior high students. She also worked for the Children’s Home in Levelland, helping children displaced from their homes.
After South Plains College, she attended Lubbock Christian University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. While attending LCU and after, she worked for two daycares in Lubbock for over ten years, working with preschool children. She left the preschool and went to work full-time at Mardel Christian Book Store, where she earned her 5-year certificate, which she was very proud of.
From her passion for playing the piano to making crafts in her spare time for everyone, she did this because it made her happy. No one matched her unique personality and living her life without caring about being judged. She’s the kind of person that our world needs more of.
Kelcy is survived by her parents, Cary and Nancy Tekell; brother, Brady Tekell and his wife Destiny; her fiancé, Michael Wise and numerous other family members.
