Karen was born on April 2, 1941 to Harley and Mary (Fennell) Campbell in Lamesa and graduated from Lamesa High School. She studied at Hardin Simmons University, Howard College and Texas Tech University, where she was a member and served as president of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. While attending Texas Tech, she met and married Wayland Reeves on December 2, 1962 in Lamesa. Karen worked as a Regional Sales Rep for Missouri Book Services and Texas Book Company covering college campuses nationwide. Following their retirement in 2011, Wayland and Karen sold their home and became full time RVer’s, traveling around the country. Karen moved back to Lubbock in 2014 after her husband’s death. She joined Bacon Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed her friends and fellowship there.Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Harley Hoyt Campbell.Karen is survived by her mother, Mary Frances Campbell of Amarillo, a son, Randy Ross and wife Disa Reeves, and a daughter, Lesli Karen Reeves-Fritz all of Lubbock, three grandchildren, Daniel Blake Cartwright of Canyon, Jessica Marie Eller of Levelland, and Colby Ray Fritz of Lubbock, four great-grandchildren, Delyla Blue Eller, Chase Ray Eller, Michael Cason Cartwright, and Baylor Grace Cartwright, and a sister, Mary Kay Freeman of Amarillo Memorials are suggested to MD Anderson Cancer Research at www.mdanderson.org.
