God gained a new angel in heaven, and Earth lost a good one. Judy Bowman peacefully went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 17, 2019. With the most welcoming of hearts Judy never met a stranger and dedicated her life to the service of others. Judy was born on July 7, 1942 to Lanny and Nina (Cooper) Roberts in Corpus Christi, TX. She was a graduate of Carroll High School. Judy was a lover of all sports, but she excelled in track and cheerleading. Her fondest memories growing up were being a cheerleader at South Park Junior High and Carroll High school. She is remembered most by her infectious smile and her love of life. In 1961, she married her soulmate, Bud Bowman, and together they raised their three children, Beverly, Brad, and Jennifer.Judy reminded all of us to live better: to love more, laugh more, and to serve more. She lived for tennis, her grandkids, hanging out with friends, the beach, being a “Mimi” to everyone’s babies, making others happy, and cooking home cooked meals for friends and family.Her life was filled with family and friends; and her family and friends were filled with life by knowing her. Judy was most often described as fun-loving, carefree, and spunky. Her outfits often reflected her colorful personality and her zest for life. Judy was one of a kind.She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bud; beloved children, Beverly Vucekovich and husband Gary of McKinney; grandchildren Bryce and Courtney; Brad Bowman and wife, Amy of Pearland; grandchildren Emily and Luke; Jennifer Latimer and husband Chris of Allen; grandchildren, Allie, Caroline, Grace and Avery; sister, Lanna Warren; and brother, Bill Roberts and many other loving relatives.Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers; Gary Roberts and Randy Roberts.Family and friends will gather to celebrate Judy’s life of 77 years at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 24, 2019, followed by a reception at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.

oh Jennifer! We just heard last week and i feel terrible for not knowing sooner about your sweet mom. Judy was so special and was my second mama ( and so many others) for sure. So many fun memories going to ya'lls QV house and up to QVTC, or Lee Leclear, playing doubles against/with ya'll with me and my dad. She was so special to the Trull family. I always remember seeing your sweet momma and her boisterous, fun, joyful, cute, & Grande personality that she always was! She welcomed everyone with a big hug and smile and lots of LOVE! When I would walk into the door at the Falls, Judy would have a story to tell and put a smile on my face. So fortunate to have known her. Prayers to her family.

Judy - what a love and a light!! I have told many people that I want to be like her when I grow up. Every single time she came to our office, she made us laugh so hard but she cared about all of us so much and always asked about our kids and our lives. What a dear she was!!! I will miss her outlandish stories and laugh! I will miss her joy and passion for life! I will miss her amazing sense of style!! Bud and all - please know we are thinking about you all here in Plano!

My friend Judy, we worked together at Southwest Tennis Center in Houston and she was like my 2nd mother always making sure that I had plenty to drink and eat, we even played in a mixed doubles tournament together, she was so excited!! I even borrowed 1 of her tennis racquets when I played in the 1974 NCAA tournament in Southern California and made the semi finals, I told Judy that I wouldn't have been able to do that if I didn't use her racquet! She kept Lee and me in line all day everyday, I was very fortunate to teach her kids tennis, Bud is a wonderful husband and father. I am heartbroken that she is gone but she will never be forgotten by not only me but many others.Thanks for being there for me when I needed guidance most in my younger years. RIP my friend

Sincere condolences to Bud & all of the Bowman family. Judy was my cousin & the person I always wanted to be like . She was a bright shining star that made every occasion brighter . Heaven must definitely have more laughter & fun now. We’ll all miss her dearly but God needed her more .
