Dear sweet family of my dear friend, I met Jolene at church in 2008 when I first moved to Lubbock. I was alone in a new church, in a new city, and in a new state. Jolene absolutely showered the love and joy of Jesus over me and we became friends. I did not get to see her regularly or all that often—I think she was in Midland more often than Lubbock, pouring into her family—who were the absolute delight of her heart! I don't believe we ever had a conversation that she did not talk about you—she loved you, bragged on you, and told me so many stories that she made me feel like I knew you, too. But whenever I DID glimpse her shining white hair through the crowds at church, my heart always lifted at the site, and I would chase her down for a hug and a chat. I want you to know the absolute joy she brought so many people. I will never forget the kindness and love she has shown me over the years, or the conversations and the laughter we shared. I will always be inspired by her deep faith and love of the Lord. I treasure the last conversation and visit we had not long after the diagnosis—I left so inspired and grateful that she was my friend in this life. Even in the face of a terminal illness, she was just Jolene. She was funny and full of laughter and joy; she was fierce in her love and trust in the Lord, at peace with the life she had lived, and confident in her eternal future and imminent meeting with Jesus. I know she would not want us to cry and mourn, but I can't quite stop the tears over the thought that this beautiful soul is no longer walking this earth. What an honor to be her friend, and an inspiration she has been! May the Lord give you courage and peace to move forward and live fully in the future, comforted by the many beautiful memories and moments you shared together as a family.

Dear Kristi. Your precious mom was one of my favorite people. I’m a dental hygienist and she was one of my patients before I retired. I always had to allow extra time so we could talk ( which we were both experts ) and she talked with so much love for you and those granddaughters! Y’all were the love of her life! My husband and I just joined Hillside and I had been looking for her. My daughter had worked with in the nursery but she moved 4 years ago. She and I would meet for lunch and she even made me a Grandma memory box for my first grand any 11 years ago. She Loved the Lord so much .. no doubt she is in the arms of Jesus. Prayers for the void she has left here on earth for all of y’all. God is so close to the broken hearted..may you feel His presence.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Heaven gained an Angel when God healed you and took you home. You were a wonderful momma, gran, sister, daughter, wife, friend and a wonderful example of a Christian servant. My favorite memory is you dressing up as Mrs. Claus. You have left an amazing legacy with your three girls and although they will miss you everyday- they will “go and do” to make you proud until you are reunited again. Love, Cathy

Kristi and family we are so very sorry for your loss. Mrs Jolene was precious to our family as our children’s prayer warrior. She was intentional at blessing them with a covering of prayer, words of encouragement, gifts, and even fun outings like playing pool. She will be missed!
