Johnny Fields

May 26, 1933 - December 31, 2018

John “Johnny” O. Fields passed away at home on December 31, 2018 at the age of 85 after a lengthy illness. Johnny was born in Lubbock, TX, to H.V. Fields and Margaret Miller Fields on May 26, 1933. He attended school at New Deal and Hereford, TX. After high school Johnny spent his adult life in law enforcement. He served on the Amarillo Police Department and Lubbock Police Department before joining the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, from which he retired in 1993.

Johnny married Lynda Smith Fields on May 8, 1963.

He is preceded in death by a son, Cory Neil Fields; and his parents.

Johnny is survived his wife, Lynda; son, Brent Fields of Lubbock; daughter, Kyla Reid and husband, Randal of Idalou; son, Dink Fields and wife, Chiree of Idalou. Also left to cherish his memory are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services for Johnny will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers with interment to follow in the Idalou Cemetery.
