To the Holt family, words can never truly express how deeply sadden I was to hear of the sudden passing of JW. I was fortunate to work at the Tx State Banking department under his supervision. And after moving away Lubbock, I would always get word from my Dad, who works at the country club, that he had asked about me. I am so grateful that upon visiting Lubbock in September, I had the opportunity to see him and hear stories of the family. May GOD comfort you and be your strength during this time.

I will always remember JW as MY Regional Director. JW believed in me, challenged me, and ultimately supported me through my commissioning. I will always remember our discussions on which of us had more flowers on our Althea bushes and, after he retired, seeing him in and around Marketstreet and him making fun of me for driving a Suburban. (He would be pleased to see I've downsized!!) I always go in to Marketstreet expecting to see him and always look for him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, may God grant you the peace to heal and remember him through the many fond memories each of you have.

JW hired me after I moved back to Lubbock. His zest for life was an inspiration. We often had theological discussions which I remember fondly. His handwritten notes in red ink with cigar stains still make me smile, and his distinct handwriting is forever etched in my mind. My deepest sympathies to each member of his family. His DOB family loved him and his legacy of fairness continues.
