On October 27, 1954, John Windom Vineyard was born to Johnny and Marsalee (Windom) Vineyard in Wellington, TX. He married Lela Hale on May 14, 1980, in Slaton, Texas. John loved everything related to sports, hunting, the Texas Longhorns, Frenship Tigers, and most of all, his family.  He enjoyed coaching his sons (Trace & Chance) in their sports and was so proud of the men they grew up to be and the families they created.  He was honored to pass on his knowledge of hunting to his grandkids and loved early mornings in the deer blinds.  John was a hard-working man who selflessly never took a day off from work.  He built an incredible life with his wife Lela, filled with love and happiness.  John had the biggest heart and treated everyone close to him like family.  His presence, personality, and love can never be replaced.

Survivors include his wife, Lela Vineyard; sons, Trace (Mollie) Vineyard, and Chance (Lindsay) Vineyard; grandchildren, Ayden Brunson, Jay Vineyard, Brooke Vineyard, Kyler Vineyard, and Cole Vineyard; mother, Marsalee Hastings; brothers, Archie Vineyard, and Kelly (Charlotte) Vineyard; and a sister, Windi (Jim) Catchpool.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Vineyard.
