John R. Claborn went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 19th at his home in Lubbock, Texas. He was 67 years of age and born to John W. and Betty (James) Claborn. He married Connie Hodges Claborn on December 30, 1978, in Lubbock and built a beautiful life together for 44 years. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University and loved the Red Raiders. He received his MBA from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved to laugh, make his family watch Tombstone, and was a self-proclaimed “Dog Whisperer.” He was a dedicated business owner who was passionate about serving his clients. His kindness and quiet, generous spirit were infectious and brought joy to many. He is survived by his mother, Betty Claborn; wife, Connie; children, Kasey (Austin, TX), John, and his wife, Celeste (Colorado Springs, CO); grandchildren, Addilyn, Gavin, and Jack Claborn; sisters, Kathy Lindenmuth and Lisa Claborn of Marble Falls; in-laws Gary Hodges (Katrina), Lanette Fortner (Ronny) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family Visitation will be at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd St, Lubbock, TX, from 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022, to reminisce, grieve, and spread John’s love and kindness to each other. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Church on the Rock – South Campus, 10503 Slide Road, Lubbock, TX, Friday, September 23, 2022, at 2 pm.
