The family of John Gonzalez will celebrate his life of 71 years at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He married Linda Greer on August 13, 1972, at St. Patrick’s Church in Huntsville, Texas. He taught art and history in Waco and Victoria, Texas, until he joined the United States Air Force. In the Air Force, he and his family went around the world, being stationed in Europe and in the States. He ended his military career here in Lubbock, where he was the transportation commander at Reese Air Force Base. He left the service with the rank of Captain and decided to return to school and attended Texas Tech to get his advanced degree. He became Doctor Gonzalez with a degree in Psychology. He operated a business, Better Pathways, here in Lubbock for many years.Survivors include his wife, Linda Gonzalez; their children, John (Terri) Gonzalez and Jennifer (Matthew) Riney; grandchildren, Aiden Gonzalez, Rick Riney; and sister, Anna Marie Gonzalez.He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Juanita Gonzalez; and brothers, Frank Gonzalez and Santiago Gonzalez.
