Jose Luis “Joe” Gonzalez passed away Friday, October 18, 2019. We will gather to recite the Holy Rosary Monday at 6:00 pm followed by a visitation at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. We will celebrate his life of 75 years at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Friends are invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy for the family to cherish and view his life tribute at www.memorialdesigners.net.Joe was born on September 18, 1944, to Leonardo and Guadalupe Gonzalez in Brownsville, TX. He attended school in Brownsville, got married, started a family, and earned a work ethic like no other. His career included farming, commercial driving, and eventually retiring from Wilbert Vault Company. He was a simple man, a hard worker, a good father, and a good friend to those who knew him and who would give the shirt off of his back if needed. He will be greatly missed.Survivors include his two sons, George Gonzalez and Larry Gonzalez; two daughters, Amy (Paul) Valdez, Lisa Ann (Joel) Ortega; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Leonardo (Isabel) Gonzalez Jr.; and three sisters, Guadalupe Lucio, Juanita (John) Cortez, and Manuela Gracia.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther Balli; and brother, Nicolas Gonzalez.
