Jimmy (Jim) Lee Cantrell was born on March 7, 1941. Jim passed from this life on October 4, 2016. He served in the US Air Force and worked for Hobart Corporation until he retired in May 1999. Jim welcomed God and church into his heart and was a devoted member of South Park Baptist Church where he proudly served God by singing in the choir. He was always the first one to arrive at the church doors every Sunday and Wednesday to greet everyone who walked through the doors. The children at the church affectionately called him Mr. Jim. He considered his church his family. Jim never met a stranger and had no problem starting a conversation or serenading anyone he met. He loved camping, fishing, and loved to be surrounded by people. Most of Jim’s conversations included his 3 grandchildren who were the light of his life. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Nova Cantrell, father, Roy Cantrell, and two brothers; Leo and Wayne Cantrell. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Crystal Vinson and her husband Dana, and his three beautiful grandchildren.
