James “Jim” Deverelle Martin was born November 23, 1946, to James and Jewell Davis Martin in Brownfield, Texas. He married Judith Ann Burran on September 20, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Brownfield, Texas.
Jim worked as a salesman in the Ag business for over 50 years; most of that time was spent selling John Deere equipment for B.E. Implement in Brownfield, Texas. He was beloved by many customers who considered him a friend rather than a salesman. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Judy Martin, for over 50 years. He was a loving father, a proud father-in-law, and a proud grandfather. Jim cherished his family and friends and would do anything for them.
Jim is survived by children, James Jeffrey Martin; Jerrod Everett Martin and wife Sheila; granddaughter, Ella Kathryn; sister Redelle Hurd; husband, Dr. Howard, sister Kathy Martin; and brother, Max Martin.
The family suggests memorial contributions to South Plains Food Bank (spfb.org) in honor of Mr. Martin.
