On June 6, 1961, Jimmy Don was born to James Donald and Shirley (Ewing) Bailey in Lubbock, TX.
Jimmy grew up on 39th Street in Lubbock and attended PF. Brown, JT Hutchison, and Monterey High School. Jimmy started working in his father’s Auto Body Shop in Carlisle when he was 15 years old. He then joined Pinkerton’s Garage & Body Shop for several years before taking over his father’s business back in Carlisle and continued there until this past year. He was always there for anybody who needed help at any time for any reason.
He enjoyed his country music, loved the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. He was a man of simple means and didn’t require much in life. He never wanted to put anybody out and always gave his time to others. He loved animals and had many stories to share with people.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Bailey; siblings, Carey (Karen) Bailey, Randy Bailey; and Venita (Gary) Garza; nephews, Kyle (Linzi) Bailey, Brett (Krista) Bailey, Geoff (Stacy) Bailey, Brady (Hayli) Garza, Dawson Garza, and Colton Garza; four great nephews and four great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Donald Bailey, and a sister-in-law, Jennie Bailey.
