It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jesse Lopez; a devoted husband, and father, on February 8, 2023.
Jose Jesus Lopez was born on August 26, 1961, to Jesus and Isaura Lopez in Huejucar, Jalisco. He married Lydia Espinoza on July 15, 1989, at St. Joseph Parish in Lubbock. They made a beautiful life together for almost 34 years with three children, Jose Lopez, “JJ,” Aubree, and Nickolas Montalvo who he all adored.
Jesse had a passion for softball, from an early age, until months before his passing. He will be remembered for being an exceptionally gifted player and for his loving friendship for his teammates, especially the relationship with his brother Andres Lopez who shared his love for the sport. Jesse retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after 31 years of service, dedicated to his work and coworkers.
Jesse was a man of faith and devoted to his family which was very important to him. The loyalty relationships with friends, and co-workers that he considers family too. Most of all was his love for his wife, children, and mother, they were his world.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Lydia Lopez; children, J.J. Lopez, Aubree Montalvo, and Nickolas Montalvo; mother, Isaura Lopez; siblings, Emma Lopez, Jesus Lopez, Felipe Lopez, Adalberto Lopez, Andres Lopez, Isaura Garcia, Elba Lopez, Elida Hernandez, Elsa Longoria, Efrain Lopez, Monica Polando, and Maria Elena Fuentes.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Lopez, and brother, Jose Luis Lopez.
Jesse will be forever remembered as an amazing man with a kind heart, and infectious smile. Although our hearts are broken, we will find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.
Please join us in remembering and honoring Jesse Lopez with a reciting of the holy rosary at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass service is scheduled at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
