It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jesse Lopez; a devoted husband, and father, on February 8, 2023.
Jose Jesus Lopez was born on August 26, 1961, to Jesus and Isaura Lopez in Huejucar, Jalisco. He married Lydia Espinoza on July 15, 1989, at St. Joseph Parish in Lubbock. They made a beautiful life together for almost 34 years with three children, Jose Lopez, “JJ,” Aubree, and Nickolas Montalvo who he all adored.

He will be remembered for being an exceptionally gifted player and for his loving friendship for his teammates, especially the relationship with his brother Andres Lopez who shared his love for the sport.
