On May 29, 1983, Jenelle was born to Michael and Karen Samuels in El Paso, TX.  Jenelle was a loving mother and was very active in her children’s activities. They were all involved in participating in theatre arts, attending church, and volunteering in their community.

She had a radiant personality and made friends with everyone she met.  One of Jenelle’s most extraordinary abilities was uplifting other people’s spirits in their time of need and she was especially known for her genuine good-heartedness and quick-wittedness.  Jenelle and her children loved Disney characters, but Jenelle and Bella especially liked Disney Princesses.

When Jenelle saw a ladybug, she associated it with her grandma Nonna and considered it a personal message from her. Many of her close friends understood the meaning of ladybugs to Jenelle and thus adopted the ladybug as a very special messenger symbolic of love and affection and a reminder to live each day to its fullest.

Jenelle attended Montwood High School in El Paso, Texas, and Graduated from Sonora High School in Sonora, Texas on May 25, 2001. After graduation, she attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.  She was employed as an Interactive Teller at First Capital Bank in Lubbock, Texas.

Survivors include her children, Benjamin Garcia, and Bella Garcia; parents, Michael Samuels, Karen (Don) Rose; grandmother, Charlotte Cervantes; stepdaughter, Brianna Garcia; aunts and uncles, Sharon Jennings, Tamera (Marc) Licon, Frances (Ben) Sposato, Gracie Fitzgerald, Marylin Mundy, Alan (Nancy) Samuels; cousins, Derek Licon, David Jennings, Adam Quinn, Scott Samuels, Steven Samuels, Maria Fitzgerald, Laura Nielson, William (Carrie) Fitzgerald, David (Miki) Fitzgerald, Albert Sposato, and Vincent Sposato.

Jenelle will always be loved and missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Janelle’s honor to the Epilepsy Foundation.  (
