Jeffrey Ryan Holt passed away on February 16, 2024, in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 36. Born on April 16, 1987, in Lubbock, Jeffrey was a man whose laughter and adventurous spirit filled the lives of all who knew him.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, Lubbock. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Christian Church on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 1:00 pm.
A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jeffrey is survived by his devoted mother, Carla Holt; his brother, Brent Holt; his sister, Kristi Moriarty, her husband David, and their children, Holt and Kate; and his longtime friend, Brittnae Davidson. His passing was preceded by his father, J.W. Holt, and his maternal grandparents, George, and Glenna Calvert, as well as his paternal grandparents, Walter and Johnnie Holt.
Jeffrey’s early life in Lubbock was marked by his love for baseball—a passion that would follow him throughout his life. He graduated from Monterey High School in 2005, where he and his teammates fulfilled a childhood dream by making it to the state tournament. That year, Jeffrey was not only selected as an All-State Catcher but also took great pride in being named the Monterey Plainsmen MVP, both testaments to his skill, competitiveness and dedication on the field.
Continuing his education, Jeffrey graduated from Texas State University in 2014 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Management. His academic achievements were just one aspect of his multifaceted life, as he continued to engage with his love for sports.
Professionally, Jeffrey found his niche as a Public Relations Coordinator with The Ambassador Company, where his charismatic personality and ability to connect with people shone brightly.
Jeffrey’s interests extended beyond the baseball diamond. After his playing days, he found joy on the golf course, often reminiscing about the rounds he played with his dad. He also had a love for snow skiing, embracing the thrill and freedom of the slopes.
Those who knew Jeffrey will recall his infectious sense of humor and his adventurous outings. He was a man who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, from coaching youth baseball leagues to sharing a laugh with friends and family.
Jeffrey’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and his loyalty to his friends and family. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. The memories created with Jeffrey will be cherished forever, a testament to the wonderful life he lived and the impact he made on so many.

As we bid farewell to Jeffrey Ryan Holt, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. Though his time with us was cut short, the mark he left on the world is indelible, and he will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
