It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Jeﬀ Martin, beloved partner, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Jeﬀ passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 54 surrounded by his partner, family, and friends. Born on July 28, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas, Jeﬀ brightened the lives of everyone he met with his infectious giggle, love for laughter, and music.

Jeﬀ was a vibrant soul who thrived on the joy of life and was a true fan of the Star Wars universe. He could also been found at a concert enjoying the music he loved. His adventurous spirit took him traveling to many places, sharing laughter and unforgettable moments with friends and family along the way. Jeﬀ’s beloved dogs, Buster, Boomer, and Rocky brought him much joy and companionship.

Jeﬀ was preceded in death by his parents; Jimmy and Judy Martin.

Jeﬀ is survived by his loving partner, Thad Johnson; his brother, Jerrod Martin (Sheila Martin); his niece, Ella Martin, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life is set to honor Jeﬀ on May 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, where friends and family will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of a life well lived. The event is casual and we ask everyone to wear Jeﬀ’s favorite color – blue.

In this time of remembrance, let us celebrate Jeﬀ, a person who brought light, laughter, and love to our lives. May his spirit continue to inspire joy in our hearts forever.

We would like to thank the UMC MICU staﬀ for their exceptional care and compassion for Jeﬀ.

Dear Thad, My deepest condolences on Jeff’s passing. It hardly seems real. You, Jeff and others were a big part of my life at Texas Tech and living in Dallas. I have always cherished those memories. I found a photo of when we all went to dinner including Juliann, the first night I brought Louise home to meet my friends and family in 2001. We all look like we were having an amazing time. My condolences to the Martin family and Thad. I only met Jeff one time and thought of him as being a very genuious person. He'd be the first person asking me and Kathy Weber( a Tech friend and fellow Madonna lover) asking how a movie was that we saw. The world needs another Jeff Martin in our lives. R.I.P.

Jeff Martin was Texas Tec University friend of my son. Jeff was always kind. I will miss him very much.

Randa and I will never forget you, friend. Thank you for supporting her and for all the laughs and good times. Jesus loves you and so do we. Cannot wait to see you wink and smile at us again some day! Dance with the angels.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff when we worked together at Phytel in Dallas in 2012. We shared many laughs at lunch during our time there. We kept in touch all these years, and he brought so much joy to my life. We would get together when I visited Lubbock or we were in Dallas at the same time. I will miss his daily texts and memes on Instagram. I will love you forever, Jeff. May you rest in eternal peace. My thoughts and prayers are with Thad and family.
