James (Jim) Odell Schaffer was born in Missoula, Montana to Sylvester A. and Mildred Fausett Schaffer on January 15, 1944. He joined in Spirit with his Heavenly Father on February 7, 2020. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday March 7th at the Crane County Senior Citizen’s Center in Crane, Tx.Jim graduated from high school in 1963. He married Brenda Joyce Bates on June 27, 1965 in Navajo, New Mexico. She was the love of his life for 54 years. They moved to Crane, Texas in 1967.Jim and Brenda were blessed with two sons: Kevin Don Schaffer born March 1, 1967 of Amarillo, TX and Michael James Schaffer born June 4, 1970 of Crane, TX.Jim worked in the oil industry for 37 years. He was employed by BP Oil Company the last two years of his career.Jim and Brenda and their two boys were active charter members of the Dorothea Street Church of Christ. Jim was instrumental in restructuring the church building where he was later appointed as an Elder of the congregation.Jim is survived by his two sons, Kevin and his wife Michele, Michael and his wife Danielle; nine grandchildren, Elise, Ethan, Madalyn, Bailey, Brittney, Jacob, Erik, Emily and Lily; two brothers, Daniel Schaffer and wife Deanna, Albert Schaffer and wife Sue, and one sister Delores Lewis. As well as several nieces and nephews.Jim was preceded in death by his wife Brenda, his father Sylvester, his mother Mildred, his sister Mary Jo, and brother Donald.
