Mr. Gordon was principal when my first child started to school. Two children later he was still principal and helped me get a teaching job there. There are too many stories I would love to share about this wonderful man! He led with love! He was a constant encourager to me! There was never a day when he wasn’t kind! Even after I retired we would visit from time to time. But, his most admirable quality was his deep love for Christ and his willingness to give Him the glory for everything! Heaven gained a wonderful, Godly man and I know he is smiling from ear to ear as he sings alongside his precious wife! I love you Mr. Gordon! Enjoy your eternity with Jesus!❤️

My husband and I started attending Cooper United Methodist Church in 2009 and from day one Jim was so welcoming.  There was never a time that he did not talk to us if we were there when he was. His voice was so calming, welcoming, and would just lift you up. I asked him to call me and leave a message so that I could listen to his voice. I also always had to get my hug in! He made the best pink fluff salad ever for the fellowship meals! I am so honored to have known him. He touched many people with his ministry and did it with passion and love!  I will miss you Jim and feel so blessed to have known you but I know you are home now!!!  I love you Jim Gordon and know I will see you again. With love Laura Slate

Mr. Gordon was my Chemistry teacher and principal. I was a troubled student, and his mentor ship and care has been the most influential in the positive choices I’ve made for my life. I know his legacy will live on in his students for generation to come. My prayers and love go out to his family and all the students he influenced who are grieving the loss of this amazing man.

Mr. Gordon was truly one of the sweetest men I've ever known. I could always see Jesus in him. Always. He was a special leader at school and then, later, as we'd visit wherever our paths crossed. God bless his family!
